I used to despise failure. I thought that if I se I used to despise failure.

I thought that if I set out to do something and it didn’t work out, it said something about ME as a person…
I’m a failure. I’m lazy and unaccomplished. I’m unworthy. I’m not important. I’m unloveable.

After a long term relationship ended, it got back to me that someone had said:
ā€œJessie changes her mind too much. Nothing is ever enough for her. She is always starting something new. She can never settle and so she will never be happy.ā€

I didn’t let anyone know it but these words near crushed me. Mainly because 90% of it was true.
It was true that I changed my mind a lot, that I always started new things and that I didn’t settle.
But the 10% that wasn’t true? 
That being that way would mean I couldn’t be happy.

I became SO terrified of starting something, taking big risks or investing in myself because the thought of failing had me full of fear and dread.

But what I came to realise about my ā€˜failures’ is that;
They were never the end, they were merely a means to an end. 
They were part of my JOURNEY and my growth.
Without the challenges and obstacles I’ve encountered… I wouldn’t be, well, me.

I didn’t know it at the time - but all of the things that didn’t work out were helping shape me into a more determined, compassionate, strong, resilient, powerful f*cking woman. I won’t ever settle. I won’t stop ā€˜failing’ (or as I like to say, growing). I will keep evolving every year, month, week, day, hour and second. Because I’m human and that’s what we do.

We are not supposed to fit inside small boxes - tucked away for safe keeping, forever unchanging, like we are made of glass and too fragile to be taken out of the box.

We are supposed to show up, try things, fall over, bruise our knees, dust them off, try again, learn, grow, love, fly and fucking BLAZE our own damn path.

So if you are reading this and you know you want more from life but you are…
Too scared to invest
Too scared to say yes
Too scared to commit
Too scared to try
Too scared to fail

Look fear dead in the eye and repeat after me:

Remember, you don’t always have to know all the details and specifics to set goals or begin taking action.

Sometimes just knowing how you want to FEEL and what things can move you closer to that feeling is enough.

I haven’t mapped my year out with precision yet. I don’t have clarity on my goals just yet. But I can FEEL into my vision and am taking bold, brave, aligned action towards it everyday šŸ¦‹

(And given ā€˜seeing the best’ sometimes felt impossible, you also taught me so much about surrendering). I learned to love harder, work smarter and above all, be grateful for the little things. A thriving business (and an EPIC team), a deeper, more loving relationship, new friendships, goals hit and a lot of stillness later and I’m so ready to see what 2021 brings šŸ’• sending you all SO much love. I love December! Christmas lights, putting up the tree, baking, music, seeing family, slowing down + the spirit of giving!🤩⁣

Yesterday I did some belated Christmas baking because I was so busy wrapping up with my clients for the year pre-xmas.⁣
⁣
I baked a delish vegan Apple + Cinnamon loaf! Recipe below for you šŸ˜‹ šŸ‘‡šŸ»ā£
⁣
⁣
šŸIngredients:⁣
1 cup plain flour⁣⁣
1/2 cup @nakedharvestsupplements cinnamon cookie protein⁣
1/2 cup almond meal (or extra flour if you prefer)⁣⁣
1/4 cup of granulated sweetener (e.g. stevia)⁣
1 cup of apple sauce⁣⁣
1/4 cup olive or coco oil⁣
1/4 cup of almond milk⁣⁣
1 finely chopped + peeled apple, I recommend golden delicious⁣
1/2 tsp baking soda⁣⁣
1/2 tsp baking powder⁣⁣
Cinnamon to taste⁣
⁣⁣
🄣Method:⁣⁣
1. Pre-heat oven roasted 180c⁣⁣
2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl ⁣⁣
3. Add wet ingredients⁣⁣
4. Stir and combine until a nice smooth batter forms⁣⁣
5. Lightly spray a loaf tin and evenly spread mixture⁣
6. Bake in oven for 35 mins (or until knife comes out clean)⁣
7. Let cool and ENJOY šŸ˜‹ ⁣⁣

2020 has been wild 🤪⁣ ⁣ There’s been many 2020 has been wild 🤪⁣

There’s been many highs and many lows and above all, a shit load of uncertainty.⁣
⁣
I had moments of anxiousness, stress, overwhelm and fear.⁣
But I also had moments of confidence, calm, bravery and love.⁣
⁣
When *the thing that shall not be named* hit earlier this year, I lost my PT job - which at the time was 50% of my income.⁣
⁣
I thought, ā€œI’m either going to swim or drownā€ and I decided I’d do everything within my power to swim 🐠 ⁣
⁣
I’m grateful for the support I had to take big risks this year and I’m grateful for myself… for all the inner work I’ve done to be able to back myself in some big decisions.⁣
⁣
I had some huge wins this year but honestly the biggest of all has been… This community.⁣
⁣
I’ve connected with more people via social media than ever before.⁣
I hired some absolute BOSS babes so we could expand and help more women.⁣
Together, we worked with over 100 women this year.⁣
To me that’s f*cking mind-blowing 🤯 ⁣
⁣
Over 100 women trusted in myself + my team, to lovingly guide them to improve their health + wellbeing.⁣
⁣
If there is one thing I’m passionate about - it’s helping women realise that they’re capable of more than what they believe they areā¤ļøā£
⁣
Every client who comes to us is SO incredibly different and it makes me damn happy knowing we provide a program where NOTHING is generic. ⁣
⁣
Every single strategy, approach, question, call, program, advice, message - is customised to the specific individual. ⁣
⁣
We have created something which allows us to hold space for another human and support them in whatever way they need.⁣
⁣
…and we get to CONNECT and build a true relationship with them in the process.⁣

This weekend has been one of the best weekends all This weekend has been one of the best weekends all year. Melbourne is feeling the most ā€˜normal’ it has in 7 months, the sun has been shining, @oliviascholz_ drove all the way down from the GC and stayed with me and I got to show her my neck of the woods and (try) convince her to move šŸ˜‚ my beautiful long term client @mindsetwithmik drove all the way from Ballarat to spend time with us šŸ’œā£

I’ve eaten frozen yogurt, laughed, watched movies on the couch, enjoyed loving hugs, had a family winery lunch and my first drop of alcohol in over 3 months šŸ¹, ate delicious vegan food, read my book, sat on the beach and spent time with my pups.⁣

Feeling so grounded & recharged after spending time with people I love, seeing strangers smile again (cya never masks šŸ‘‹šŸ») and feeling the sun on my skin šŸŒž ⁣

Things you can do for mindfulness & self connection:⁣
-Eat a meal without multi-tasking (e.g. working, scrolling on your phone) ⁣
-Cleaning or cleansing your environment⁣
-Meditation⁣
-Breathwork⁣
-Nature walk⁣
-Body scan⁣
-Ocean swim⁣
-Gratitude practice⁣
-Journalling ⁣
-Dancing⁣
-Massage⁣
-A long hot shower⁣
-Colouring in⁣
-Connecting with your crystals⁣
-Pulling your oracle cards⁣
⁣
Anything which can help you feel connected to yourself, your body & the present moment, will improve your mental + physical state and enhance your intuition šŸ”®ā£

Personally, doing these things help me feel connected to my power (in alignment with my highest self).⁣
In this state I feel: confident, happy, inspired, creative, decisive, in flow, generous✨⁣

When I am disconnected from my power (out of alignment from my highest self),⁣
I feel: indecisive, stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, confused, guarded🌨⁣
⁣
So many of the feelings we crave, like passion, productivity, positivity and drive - flow to us when we are connected to our power.⁣
⁣
We become connected when we take a moment to un-plug from life. The past, the future, our problems, our concerns - all of it… and just *be here*⁣
⁣

Something I see far too often is people claiming they’re passionate about ā€˜health’ but what they’re really passionate about is pursuing a 6 pack 😣⁣
⁣
Body weight is NOT always a reflection of health. Body fat percentages look different on EVERY ONE and weight is NOT always indicative of good or bad health.⁣
⁣
If you:⁣
- Under eat/restrict or over-eat/binge frequently⁣
- Train 7+ days a week without taking time to recover⁣
- Are just chasing visible abs⁣
- Avoid certain food groups⁣
- Obsess over a number on the scales⁣
- Only care about your body for 12 weeks of the year⁣
⁣
You do NOT care about your health!!!!!!⁣
⁣
You care about how you LOOK.⁣
⁣
These things are not healthy.⁣
⁣
If you:⁣
- Know your bodies energy requirements, take time to get educated about nutrition and feel at ease around food⁣
- Recover as much as you train and give your body time to rest⁣
- Are a healthy body fat percentage⁣
- Enjoy foods in moderation and eat predominantly whole foods and some soul foods⁣
- Have a regular, healthy period (25 - 30 day cycle, no clots, bright red, 3-7 days in length etc)⁣
- Care about your body YEAR round⁣

You are on the right track to maintaining a HEALTHY body!šŸ’•ā£

On top of that, remember health is not only what you eat and how you move:⁣
It’s what you listen to⁣
šŸ¦‹The thoughts you think⁣
šŸ¦‹The people you surround yourself with⁣
šŸ¦‹Your self-care routine⁣
šŸ¦‹Your environment⁣
šŸ¦‹What you put on your skin⁣
⁣
And so much more!⁣
